Where creating great partnerships matters
Many years ago the first horse livery belonging to a friend arrived here at Whitfield Farm. That sparked the development of what is now Whitfield Farm Equestrian. Originally run solely by Richard, and now jointly with his wife Louise, the yard is a busy livery and competition hub offering a variety of care packages, training and activities for all of our clients. Richard and Louise share a strong passion for horses, and a ceaseless drive to create horse and rider combinations that bring the best out of the partnership.
Since starting his riding career Richard has trained and competed countless horses to a high standard. Early on his focus was Show Jumping and Tetrathlon, then naturally moving onto Eventing, and eventually delving into pure Dressage. Over the years Richard has shared his knowledge with many riders, either through pony club, or through private lessons and gets a huge sense of satisfaction when seeing his pupil combinations achieve their goals.
Louise has always had a love of horses and has juggled riding and competing alongside a full time job. She has competed Dressage, Eventing, and Side Saddle with a focus mainly on dressage since having their two children. Louise's passion for dressage gave her the drive to become a listed BD dressage judge.
We bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to horse and riders and are keen to support people in their riding journeys, whatever their goal may be.
